INDIAN TRAIL HIKE
Join Richard from Activities as he takes you on a hike through the outlying areas around Silent Valley.
There are several Indian artifacts for you to see.
Meet for the Indian Trail Hike on Saturdays, 8am in the Village Center. 
The hike is approximately 2 hours long, but not overly strenuous.
(weather permitting)

Idyllwild has many beautiful hiking trails for your pleasure. Forest Service Hiking Day Pass required. (IT'S FREE!)  You must register with the Forestry Service before hiking. Get map of hiking trails at the Silent Valley Ranger Station

Silent Valley is one of the finest private resorts in the US. It is dedicated to providing the outdoor-oriented family with an unparalleled camping experience in a natural setting enhanced by the finest recreational features.
 Silent Valley is located in a mountain valley at an altitude of 3500 feet, in the San Jacinto Mountains. The city of Banning is 10 miles away to the north and the resort community of Idyllwild is 16 miles to the south on scenic Highway 243.
    There are approximately 460 acres at Silent Valley, with 850 campsites in a wide variety of distinct areas, each having its own special advantages and each offerings a different camping experience.
   All campsites are capable of accommodating various types of recreational vehicles: 22% are drive-through. Some sites are in wooded areas, which offer a large degree of privacy; others are closer to the "action" near activity centers. Each site has a barbeque grill, picnic table and benches, and has access to sanitary refuse containers.

        WHERE IS SILENT VALLEY?

Silent Valley is located in a mountain valley at an altitude of 3500 feet, 95 miles east of Los Angeles, in the San Jacinto Mountains.    The city of Banning is 10 miles north on Interstate 10.   The resort community of Idyllwild is 16 miles south on scenic Highway 243.
 
           HOW DO I GET THERE?
From Los Angeles take the San Bernardino Freeway (Interstate 10) east to Banning. Exit at the 8th St. turnoff and follow the panoramic State Highway 243 approximately 9 miles, turning right on Poppet Flats Road one mile to Silent Valley.
